South Africa Art & Beauty

South Africa is an amazing place!  About ten years ago my friend and colleague commissioned me to create a painting of her most favorite view she found on her amazing trip to South Africa.  She was so excited about the South  African people and the beauty of the country that she wanted to preserve it in memory.  Now after all this time, I too understand what she wanted to convey and capture.

We recently traveled to Cape Town for a few days of sightseeing and relaxing.  It is summer now in Cape Town ~ the warm weather allowed for lots of walking to get to know the neighborhoods. We quickly recognized a vibrant and diverse art scene as well.  We popped in lots of galleries and saw beautiful artwork that was inspiring and brilliant.  For me, the scenery was breathtaking and the colors used by the artists captured the essence.

We moved on from Cape Town to Pilanesburg National Game Preserve.  We saw animals just a few feet away and captured exceptional moments, including penguins on the beach.  An exceptional experience and one we did not want to end.
