Summer Colors, Vera Neuman Inspired

By Vera Newmann
When I was growing up, Vera Neumann's brightly colorful graphic scarves and table accessories were the height of cool.  Vera was a one-woman empires, known for her timeless, hand-drawn patterns that made everything look happy.  Her signature quote, "A bland cocoon is a dull existence" gave inspiration to anyone who ever wanted to add a splash of color to their home or wardrobe style.   I love her happy style!

I have been creating my summer collection for my upcoming show at the Rehoboth Art League 40th Outdoor Art Show and hoping to bring a bit of happiness into my work as well.  I hope you can join me at the beach to enjoy the sun, sand and fun!  Booth #34~

Autumn Reflections II

Autumn Reflections II, 12" x 12", Oil/canvas
The change of season is so refreshing.  There is something about color that inspires me to create new works with a a fresh palette.  I have also been using my palette knife to give drama and texture to my pieces.  Scraping, adding more paint and scraping, moving the paint--almost like frosting a cake!

I am excited to let you know I have posted a few new paintings on VandM this week and they were chosen for "picks of the week".  Have a look --
